NATURE IS A HUMAN INVENTION
'The Unnatural History Museum'
The museum is everywhere.
It’s accessible at all times.
You are already in it.
All it takes to enter is to pay attention.

The Unnatural history museum invites you to its latest exhibition:
Nature is a human invention.

The exhibition takes place outside of the museum building.
The past isn’t separated with walls from our daily environment, nor is the future.
The artefacts are kept in their natural habitat and carefully curated*.

The exhibition invites you to take a better look at your surroundings.
It makes visible what is often overlooked.
How do you relate to nature in urban spaces?
Is it limiting, possessing, using, enjoying, giving, sharing, neglecting, taking care,
co-existing?

Nature is often viewed in dualistic terms: natural and unnatural, nature and culture, human and nonhuman. Everything is labeled and categorized.
The exhibition plays with language. It mixes reality with past, future with imaginary stories.
What happens when you replace objects with a ‘natural’ landscape?
Try to imagine it.

* The artefacts are not in possession of the museum. They have their own identity and are subject to changing external factors. Therefore, the museum is not responsible for objects missing in the collection.
